Montpellier  1927-1928

During the time I spent in Montpellier I took lessons in French from the daughter of the lady we were staying with. She was a very competent teacher. She was a stenographer and had a good education. She had been married and divorced as I remember it. She had a real French temper and showed it if she thought that you had not done your share of studying when you came for a lesson. As a result I learned French very fast and after spending eight months in Montpellier I was transferred to Grenoble as senior elder and president of the branch.
