Today has been a most beautiful day. Yesterday and today have been wonderful days. The sun has shown all day long and it has been as warm as a mid-summer day. Yesterday we rented bicycles and went over to Aigues-Mortes, an ancient city built by Louis the 9th of France. It is completely surrounded by a high fortified wall that was built during the 13th century. It was certainly interesting.

We also visited an old town, a sort of prison where they used to keep the Huguenots. The city is about as big as four square blocks at home and ... was built by St. Louis as a fort on the Mediterranean. It didn't seem to serve its purpose and was later abandoned. It is of no value now except as a place of interest. We rode bicycles all the way over and back, 25 miles each way, so you can figure that we were kind of tired when we arrived. In fact I didn't know whether I was going to make the last 5 miles or not. The bicycles were old wrecks also, and of course that didn't help matters any. It was really too long a journey for one day but now it is over and it was a good experience. However, I don't think we will be trying it again for a little while.

Today we had church as usual. It was such a beautiful day and a holiday besides (Joan of Arc day), that we didn't expect many out. However we had 12 attend...
