John to Elsie Mae / Montpellier, France
I received your letter today and was glad to get it. I am glad you are having a good time in school and that you are the Patrol Captain. I think thou that it is you and not the teacher that is not nice. You should go to Sunday School too, just the same as you go to (regular) school. Sunday School is just as important as day school. When you get as old as I am yhou will wish that you had gone to Sunday School more - also Sacrament meeting. Over here in the cities where they have little girls and boys they have a Sunday School, but it is not in a big fine meeting house like it is at home. It is in a little room with old chairs for seats, and a missionary for a Sunday School teacher. You ought to be glad you have such a nice place to go to.
So you are studying French history. How would you like to see the city where all the kings and presidents gathered together to sign the Peace Treaty of the World War? I have seen it and saw the building where it was signed. I also saw a city that was built almost 100 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. It was the capitol of Europe when Julius Caesar was king. The City where the Peace Treaty was signed is Marseille, and the old city is called Nimes. See if you can find them on your map. Then look right between them and you may find Montpellier - the city where I am now.
Well, I have a lot of other things to do so I must close. Write me lots of letters.
