Jul 1 Got up-early, caught the train for Liege. Said goodbye to Paris and France. Arrived 1:30. Spent afternoon and evening with Thom.
Jul 2 Caught the 7:30 train to Brussels. Got visa for England and- saw the town a little. Caught the 3:50 train for Amsterdam. Arrived 7:30.
Jul 3 Went to Amsterdam today and passed the day hunting diamonds. Finally bought one for $85. Saw Don Wohlfield.
Jul 4 A funny fourth. Left Rotterdam early this a.m. and after a touching adieu to old Europe we crossed the channel to England tonight.
Jul 5 Went down to see Buckingham Palace, Westminster and the British Museum this a.m. Left about 4 bells for boat. Show tonight.
Jul 6 We sailed at 8 this a.m. Stopped at Cherbourg to pick up passengers and mail. I got neither release nor linen. Feel fine tonight.
Jul 7 When we got up the boat was rocking quite bad. I ate all my meals though and feel all right tonight. Some of the fellows sick.
Jul 8 Today things went better. Better weather but still foggy. Didn't do much but eat and play games. Saw picture show.
Jul 9 Just another day at sea. Had a deck tennis tournament and I found out that I wasn't so bad. Mixed doubles.
Jul 10 Played off the mens double and got beat. A keen day. Danced a little and played games with Mrs. Murray, etc.
Jul 11 Today we started seeing more and more boats and tonight we passed Coney island and dropped anchor off N.Y.
Jul 12 Saw old dame Liberty this morning going up the Hudson. Docked about 8. Got through the customs all right. Saw ball game.
Jul 13 Went to Church in New York. Surely seemed good. I'd like to stay here. Saw the National History Museum. Show tonight. Left for Rochester.
Jul 14 Arrived in Rochester at 8 this a.m. Caught a train out to Palmyra - saw the J. Smith farm, Hill Cumorah, etc. Niagara Falls tonight.
Jul 15 Arrived in Chicago at 7:30 this a.m. Saw a doctor about my eye. Spent the morning at Fields Museum, etc.
