Dorothy Griffin to Maude Griffin / Alhambra, CA

Paul Jay gets up on first hands and knees, then up on hands and feet. He looks as though he were going to turn a somersault - so funny! yet he can't progress voluntarily yet, just rocks back and forth. He still without doubt the best natured baby I've ever seen, and goes for days without crying at all. When he gets tired he just puts his head down and sleeps - no preliminaries.

Bob counts up to fifty now with few mistakes, and reads his numbers as well as letters. I hope he doesn't tire of kindergarten work - he has a whole year of it before he learns to read...

Did I ever tell you that I recovered both chairs in the living room - one in a plain dusty rose .... the other with a flowered on pale rose background - then I made new draperies in a pale green, same color as the green in the rug. If I didn't go into detail, tell me and I'll describe them all to you and send samples -- I can't remember. Anyway, they look very nice and the room is beginning to all go together once more.

Love, Dorothy
