John Griffin to Father / Washington D.C.
I sent Ben another ten the other day and paid my board bill for December. I will still have quite a reserve when I am paid next Friday. I am saving as much as I can, as I feel that I am going to need it after the first of the year. I have paid my tithing regular and exact, ever since I have arrived here and I don't know when money has gone so far and lasted so long as it does now. I have had work ever since I've been back here and have always had a reserve on hand enough to last me a month should I be out of a job. So I feel that I have been blessed even though I have not had everything that I have wanted in the way of work.
