John Griffin to Mother / Grenoble, France

Nothing exciting has happened around here since I wrote last. Just about the same thing every day - tracting all morning and sometimes in the afternoon, then later visits and at night usually a class of some kind or other. We keep quite busy though .. .. (When) it ever is good weather the people say that they have to profit the good time and go on an excursion. So you see that's our life.

Last sunday we had a good fast meeting even though only 17 came out. The sunday before we had 27 and it was one of the hottest Sundays we've had. Last Sunday was cool and we only had 17. It is harder now to keep busy because lots of our friends have gone on vacations. Every Frenchman goes on a two week-to a month and a half vacation every year, regardless of his financial standing. They think that a vacation is an essential.
