John Griffin to Mother / from Salt Lake Mission Home, 31 N. State St.

Well, another day has passed and I believe things are going a little better. We had a very interesting class last night conducted by Bro. Butter, returned president of the Samoa Mission. I wish that all classes were conducted by men like him. Brother Snow talks so much and says so little. We had a very interesting class at 9 under Rulon S. Wells; also another interesting class in Personal Hygiene under a young local doctor.

At 2 p.m. we visited the Church Genealogical department and library. Mrs. Widtsoe gave us a very interesting talk after which were shown through the library. At 3 p.m. we were given a talk on the Gathering of History and Keeping a Journal by Brother Lind of the Church Historian's Office. He was also very interesting. This reminds me (that) I want to keep a journal and I have a good leather bound J.P. loose leaf on my table at home. Please take out all the pages that are written on and send the rest to me. I supposed you noticed I left my tooth paste etc. in the suitcase. I would also like that. I sure appreciate the rubber case and articles. It has sure come in handy. If you have room, also please send me my other shoes. These have rubbed blisters on my feet.

Well, I've got to go to a language class in two minutes so I'll say good bye. Give any love to the family. (Later) That class is over. We go to English one day and German the next. They only have the two classes.
