Letter to Brother Ben
I received your letter and the part for the Ford the other day. Thanks. How much did the part cost? Yesterday and today we relined the brakes and transmission bands. Some job - We had a lot of trouble but finally got it running tonight. I don't know how long it will run. Time will tell. Have you been on any trips other than your scout camp. I havn't done a thing this past week but work, write, eat, sleep and work on the Ford. I'll sure be glad when the 30th of August comes and we can leave. I saw Gastone the other day. he sure was a wreck. All sunburned, tired, etc. It was sure some wreck they came through on. I guess you'll see it up at Logan. I sometimes wonder if we will be able to make it through, but when I see the way he came I think it will be easy. Please find my goggles and send them. You know , those expensive ones.
If you read Sunday's sport page under Ogden Prospects for Football, you see that I am an old veteran, etc. To live up to their predictions I need some practice so I'll give you a proposition. If you'll send me your football, I'll buy you a new one just like it when I get home. Have they heard of Bill Wright yet? That's sure funny the way he disappeared. Well, I've been working hard all day either at the beanery or on my Ford and am all tired out so will say good bye and get to bed. P.S. I forgot to mail mother's letter; that's the reason it's late.
