History of John Smith Griffin

This is an electronic history of John Smith Griffin, Dorothy Israelson Griffin and their family. You may read this with your internet browser. The history is comprised Of John Griffin's autobiography which starts at his birth and ends in 1948 as the family is moving into their new home in LaCanada. Photos, documents, and remembrances of his children are the source for a biography that covers the LaCanada period from 1948 until John and Dorothy's deaths in 1975. Other major documents included in this history are John Griffin's daily journal written during his mission and while he was in Paris for six months following his mission, and letters written by him and by Dorothy, mainly to John's parents, Benjamin and Maude Griffin. There are 480 scanned photos and documents also included in this history; these as well as the letters are reached by clicking links found throughout the history.



The history is presented on single web pages which are linked together into the total document. Each electronic page is designed so that it can be printed on a single page (left margin 1.25", all other margins 0.5", in portrait mode). Photos and Documents are reached by clicking links, and the web browser "back" button should be used to return from them.

This is the first electronic rendition of John Griffin's history. John's work files have been recently located and will be included in the next version. If there are additional documents or photos to be discovered, or errors or omissions in the history, please inform the author so that they can be included in future versions of the history.
